Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Be strong.

I've never ever raised my voice at my parents for their excessive nagging. But recently I'm coming closer and closer to doing that. Because my sister is taking the PSLE soon(and i am taking the ducking As), and my mum finally decides to put down work for a bit and do last minute chionging for her.

Apparently, I am occasionally blamed for my sister's lack of preparations.

I don't really want to whine about things that I've never tried fixing, but I really had tried to get my sister to study. But as someone who's gone through the terrible times as a kid, I know how frustrating it is to have someone older to nag at you to do work when you're watching your favourite drama serial, or playing/talking with your friends whom at that point of time, felt like your closest kins. And you possibly wouldn't have the heart to wake your siblings up when they're sleeping just to do work right? Which is why I avoid scolding her nowadays, except when she gets on the phone for like an hour plus. Now, I just wonder if I had done the right thing.

I think I did the wrong thing.

Failure as a student. Failure as a brother.

Nothing I do can salvage the situation anymore.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Maturity

Recently there has been a small issue of someone blogging and someone getting offended. Basically, don't bother to read this if you don't understand the first sentence 'cuz chances are you wouldn't have a single idea of what happened.

Anyways, i admit that i was initially offended to have read it the first time. But on seconds thoughts, I found sufficient reasons to NOT feel offended.

Firstly, there's obviously the my-blog-i-wan-write-what-i-happy rule. Which i abide by so much and my best excuse for writing something wrong. Oops. Secondly, I personally see no wrong in idolising popstars because that doesn't mean you are immatured. You are immatured when you start OVERspending on idols' franchises regardless of how much blood your parents spilled, or when you get angry at your best friend of twenty years because he said (insert name of idol) sux. Everyone has their own views, so everyone is entitled to voicing out theirs. It's the group of people who start getting all cranky because someone said something they do not agree that makes the expression 'freedom of speech' difficult to implement. Then again, there's the issue of being sensitive to people's feelings.

Thirdly, one starts saying other people are immatured for having idols for two reasons: he wants to act matured, or he is old and really feels that way. In this case, I believe my friend is the latter, and i think i can forgive him for aging faster than others, hahaz. Lastly, I'm more offended by my results, so no mood to be offended again.

I believe I should say no more lest i create another write-wrong-thing issue. Human relations are the complex thing on earth next to De Moivre's Theorem.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Hardy Boy(s).

Yeah, woot, yaphoo. Hady won.

I'm pretty sure the results came as no surprise to many people, just like last year when Taufik and Sylvester were in the final 2.

Well, as always, wei yuan has something to hiam about almost everything, and the results is not an exception. For me, an idol is someone who stands out from the crowd, someone whom you can recognise and recall even when he hadn't seen him appearing for like two thousand years. Does Hady stands out from the crowd?

From the crowd of commonfolk, absolutely. Because he has good vocals, very good vocals actually.

But I do not think he stands out from the crowd of people who can sing. When Taufik came out to perform during yesterday's results show, I am unable to recall anything special about this 'idol'; not much of an attitude, character(i mean nothing special) or X-Factor, the only description i can come out with is: good vocals lohz.

Media exposure is important and the ones with the most catchy headlines scores. Even that Sylvester has something else to offer with that ah-beng look. Negative or not, no news is bad news for these performers, and I do not think 'Taufik performs at NDP!' would be a more catchy headline than 'Sylvester's mother involved in fraud!'

Then again, Jonathan isn't exactly the most interesting topic around. But I am sure by the next season, when I'm bald and slacking in front of a computer as NS training, I will watch the finals and when Hady comes out to perform, I will only remember 'hmm, nice vocals'.

Then, I'll think, 'Who was his competitor? OH, the rocker with a mole near his mouth. OH, there's this other ultra-disgusting but good-looking guy who sings damn bad but got into the top 4 or 5 and kanna flame a lot but still thinks he can sing. That Joking guy or something...'

Talk about stealing all the limelight.

And today's 娱乐百分百 had Jay playing basketball! He lost la, but I think in terms of coolness he scored 100%. I think I might just go catch the re-run again tonight.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Chua Tio!

I just had the shock of my life.

I was just using my computer, happily surfing... AND FROM BEHIND ME I HEARD A MAN'S VOICE SAYING 'I'M SORRY, IS THIS 313'.

I practically jumped in my seat and turn around.

Some guy OPENED MY WINDOW(because i forgot to latch it up) and asked me that.

For a moment i thought that this post really angered someone and is looking for me for revenge, I even had my hands on the window to prevent it from opening and the other grabbing my bottle(like a weapon but seriously, what good would it do). I am not joking, this really was my reaction.

It took me a second for me to regain my composure. I hastily replied 'NO', and closed the window.

For about a minute i sat at the chair, feeling the sweat forming on my forehead because I REALLY WAS GIVEN A RUDE SHOCK.

Things do not stay as it is of course; afterall, one who anger/irritates/SCARES me, deserves the ultimate verbal treatment.

From calmness, to anger, and on to VENGENCE. I opened the door to go outside and saw him talking on the phone. No I didn't give a damn and with the angr-iest tone i can muster, starting questioning how the duck he knows my window wasn't latch and a few others questioning his intention.

After having my fill, here I am, happily blogging out what happened. Heehee. Oh, btw, he's a property agent looking for the flat he's showing to the clients; but I really am puzzled as to how he knows my window is not latched.

Damn.

Still feeling a bit weak in the knees la.

I'm not sure if its because i got off the habit of dota-ing for too long, or the prelims have worn me down so much, or simply of the events happening around me, I actually felt uninterested when i went for dota today.

Not its not just dota? Geez. Losing my faith?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Yaphoo~

Lousy post. Might as well blog another one.

Actually, seeing Kok Mun's post on one of his personal hates: sticky caps, kinda made me wanna blog out my pet peeves.

But there's so many and of those, 90% of my pet peeves will comfirm make people wanna plant bombs at my doorstep. But bloggers typing in sticky caps don't exactly frustrate me. Instead, it makes me feel good cuz I'll think, 'how old liaoz, still acting cute, and in the WORST ways ever, hahahahahah'. Then I'll feel damn matured and go on to play Neopets.

GAAAAH.

I'll just say another one of my pet peevs: I have the insatiable urge to correct people's English, grammar-wise and spelling-wise. Actually its for their own good lehz. You see, we're all taking GP papers right, so it really helps that in your everyday life that your English standard gets polished up by your good friend, Yours Truly, then when it comes to the real stuff, you don't make the same mistakes that causes the examiner marking your paper to fall off your chair.

I mean it*cue innocent-looking eyes*! Some mistakes, either in phrasing or spelling(like voi-la, not viola which is violin in French), can be really really funny. The problem is that such mistakes are kinda natural and we often make them without knowing it. Can't recall any funny ones, but i do remember my own mistake:

In my Thursday September post, I blogged

Yeay! Jasmine's out. I'm not happy because i hate her or anything, just that i wanna see a spectacular finals 2 weeks from now.

Note the second sentence, i meant to say 'I'm happy not because I hate her', yet I said 'I'm not happy because I hate her', which can have an entirely different meaning. Possibly a case of direct translation from chinese, and thanks to Kenneth, I realise this and probably will try to make sure i don't do it again.

But its kinda, actually, very irritating to those i correct if i keep doing it, and I wouldn't want to be more irritating than I already am. So usually I'll just bite my tongue and try to ignore the mistake i saw.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Of life's monotony

本应该明显跟上的牵挂 那伤心原来没有时差
心里的雨倾盆的下 却始终淋不到她

Sinyee's post gave me some non-physical recollection:

"50cents ice-jelly after a tough PE lesson
the secret slope path i used to climb to reach class 1/4
the winding driveway
the washing of tables on the slope"

Its a really rainy day today.

500th post! I am wondering how much more can I go. Boring post ahead. Click here instead if you're bored.

I'm very much a 'live-for-the-moment' kind of person. I can hardly recall my secondary schools days already because I went past it so absent-mindedly, really literally went past, that my memories are now only stored in the physical forms of my friends I have from secondary school. And one of many ironies in my life is that for each moment I'm living, I'm very worried about the next moments I am about to live.

For the past few weeks been starting to really think of life after the big 'A's. Putting aside all the trash talk of killing myself or going to be porn star to replace Annabel Chong in the Singapedia if i ever feel that i screwed it(is that a pun? nvm), I really am beginning to feel the fears of truly, growing up.

Girls probably won't have this worry since they grew up some-when during secondary schools while guys usually need to wait till NS to break out of childhood; but i am quite positive that like me, most people are afraid of change.

For me, this change is more than just inducing an e.m.f in me to make my internal systems go haywire, but really turning everything into an entirely different dimension. I'm not afraid of NS, but of what it'll force me to become. I can only imagine in my absence, how many of my seconday school memories would be lost, how my sister would turn out to be as she reaches rebellious state with busy parents, how I'll cope probably as a lowly clerk... After all that, I'm thinking of all the responsibilities I need to bear as the son of the family.

But I was just wondering, in my case, I know my aim for studying now is for all those material stuff; but who am i doing it for?

I was thinking, who was the one who had always told me that from young, the greatest satisfaction of life is to live in a big house, big car and marry a chio bu? Who kept reminding me that study is my greatest aim and i will almost certainly come out of it feeling that all of this is worth it?

Now, years down the road, I have realised that my greatest satisfaction is to simply live a carefree life, and not one that I spend 40-odd years earning all that money and at the end, too bed-ridden to spend those. Big cars, big house is only a possibility and certainly, having a pretty wife is a large uncertainty. And I have also come to think that the only reason I was told that greatest satisfaction of life is to attain all those is because the person who told me all that would get to enjoy all that.

But these are just thoughts. Thinking that the person who told me that can be so selfish is morally wrong, plus I can never convince myself that the person can be so selfish. I will forever be bounded to the responsibility of a son, a brother...

And so I will give everything i have to get all those 'A's. To gain the password to the big car, big house, big money and pretty wife. To at the end of the road, hold that A level certificate in my hands...

and feel the same emptiness i had when I held my PSLE results, when I was handed my 'O' levels results slip.

===========================================

Today marks the day where I have run out of fuel, where fuel=concentration.

Since last Friday I have following a strict routine of mugging: Wake up at 7 plus, go mac eat and study, return home at evening.

That is extremely taxing on someone like me, and I think I'll be very much taking the remaining 3 days off for some mild studying. Afterall, 3 days does get you somewhere but not very far, might as well get all those stress i've been having for the past week. Its terrible to be panicking myself to sleep every night.

But I won't be slacking all the way lah. Probably research GP since its pretty un-stressful.

I am glad to say that although everything isn't going my way in my life, it is pretty much going the way I want it to be in Singapore Idol.

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO~ Jas, Jon and Hady~

Anyway, I don't like how people nullify every hard work a person had done simply because he is ugly or what. Like how my mom was saying Paul deserve to be out cuz he's ugly. Maybe because I can relate? Lol. I dislike Paul Twohill yes, but only because he is, afterall taking up one space which can be filled by a better singer. Then again, I am very entertained by his performance; and I kinda like his quirky personality. Nevertheless, I am still relieved it is he who is ousted instead of any of the remaining trio.

Here's my favourite performance from Jasmine and Jonathan!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting J & J

Yup, J & J unleashes their prowess!!!!!!

No, not Jay and Jolin, its Jonathan and Jasmine!!!

Jasmine sang 2 Judges' Choice songs, and it was so damn good. She didn't do any excess stuff like jumping around, she simply stood there and unleash her power-house vocals. And I'll hafta say her voice's bears that striking resemblence to Christina Aguilera. All 8 comments were good, and for the first time in human history, Ken Lim said well-done to her. If i were her i'd broke into tears la.

Now that will shut all those shallow(or deaf) people who had said, 'Jasmine can't sing.'. Yes, I am referring to the tall guy in my class with surname Chong.

And Jonathan! He's always good and all, but tonight he is PHENOMENAL. So phenomenal that i think i spelt the word wrongly. His second song 'Addicted To Love' showed the rocker he's always been, but he made his first song, 'Chasing Cars' which i am recently addicted to, sound better than Snow Patrol's. Godlike. I'm rooting for him to be da next Idol, man.

Hady was a bit boring since he's like good for all the weeks; Paul, obviously the weakest now, didn't back down without a fight, I kinda like his rendition of Adam Sandler's 'I wanna grow old with you', which used to be one of my favourite songs.

No joking. Tonight's SI finally met up to expectations. Whoever's going home tomorrow night would really be tough to say, but i think Jasmine won't be staying much longer. *sigh*
