Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Time, goes on and on everyday...

Just a few days and I'm learning how to make full use of my 5-10 time slot at home, the time which I used to extravagantly rotted away in the past.

Although the course at OETI is interesting and fun; in fact, very fun, its still quite sian to be waking up at 6 every morning and then go there till 5pm then go home. Not to mention while at OETI half the time I'm in air-con rooms which isn't very beneficial for my sensitive nose.

====================================

Amongst my course-mates I often hear them discussing relationship stuff. Turns out that they were FAR more experienced than anyone else I've met. There's even this pretty handsome guy who said he's got like 22 relationships before. No prizes for guessing why he's such a chick-magnet.

Surprisingly, I didn't feel loser-ish or left-out whenever I hear their conversations; I'm sure I would feel that way in the past. Guess I'm just too lazy to care and given up on such things.

Seriously speaking, the 2 things I trust the least in my life are marriage and anything that leads to marriage. I'll probably just die alone when I'm old(given that I do live till old-age but as far as I can see, all Rubbish members will die young), but its much better than having a wife and dragging her along(or maybe she goes first and I get all the grieving stuff; wow that sounds selfish).

Damn I'm cynical. I think I'll just go gay.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Techies

Its day 2 and I'm lovin' it.

First day at OETI(Ordnance Engineering Training Institude) and the most repeated words-of-encouragment are: without you, the technicians, the combatants are sitting ducks, because according to them, we maintain the weapons so that the weapons are serviceable. Not exactly convincing isn't it?

But I'm no longer sad at being a technician, because I had a little glimpse of what I would be doing in the following 3 months and it looks pretty fun. Not to mention I have an oddly-funny sergeant and the other 14 funny course-mates.

But the most interesting person of all is my Sergeant Major; he is so frank and straight-forward about army that its hilarious. I can't really say what he said cuz I(and maybe him) might get into trouble with the old-warrant-officers-whose-time-is-up for that.

After the 3 months training here, I'll be posted off to other units that require my aid(say that in Enchatress's voice)*; hopefully, I get to be posted overseas(TAIWAN!).

I think I'm hearing cheers of happiness from people at the idea that I face the revived possibility of being posted to Tekong.

KNEEEVER.

I just realise that if i ever come across a blog post that indicates a content that comprises mostly of the blogger him/herself and his/her gf/bf, I will simply sneer at it and click away.

This can only mean one thing: jealousy(of other's happiness) is taking over me.

I am becoming evil.

I think I'm going to vie for world domination with Kok Mun le. Provided he still has plans on that.

IT IS LEE KOK MUN'S 19th BIRTHDAY! Which means, he is one step closer to dying than the rest of us, YAHOOOO~

Anyway, Wei liang, Kai Quan, Yi fan, me and Jessica went to his house today to do a little celebration for him since Wei liang forgot and needed to do some make-up. It was quite dumb, cuz we were wearing party hats and had party poppers, so dumb things like this happened:

But Wei Liang stole the limelight from the birthday boy as he did the dumbest thing I have ever seen in my entire life.

After that, we played Cluedo for a while ended the celebration with a nice group photo.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Technician

Quite a number of people are asking for my vocation. I shall take this concern as a genuine one and not one that is malicious and wishing-to-hear-me-say-tekong-clerk.

But if you are one of those who are wishing for me to be Tekong clerk, TOO BAD AHAHAHAHAHHAZ.

I'm obviously too smart for that. Lim peh ARMT Technician-Turret ar! Technicians sound kinda on the low side but its still so much better than a clerk or a combat medic(ahahahahaz, that's you Kenneth Ng) right?

If you dunno what in a world is a turret, try and recall the days you played Command & Conquer, or Starcraft(Terran unit); if really still dunno, its really just a defensive, rotating weapon platform. The army really knows me well man; they know I always prefer defending over offending.

If I'm not wrong, I should be handling the weaponry on armoured vehicles; and if I'm lucky, even one on a naval ship. Should be a slack job.

S'pore don't have turrets on land(i think) and I'm sure we are rich enough to have bought turrets that last long enough for me to ORD before they break down.

I hope.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting For all that it's worth.

A friend asks only for your time, not your money.

I am pissed.

We had Rubbish outing today. Called everyone. Even made the effort to remind them. All came but one. Hence I called him.

Me: "Eh, where you?"
Friend: "Huh? i at Vivo la, haha"
Me: "Today got outing leh?!"
Friend: "Har? Haha, pai seh la"

I don't like being treated in this way. It makes me feel like I'm not being respected as a friend. The reason I took the effort to call someone out for outing is because I treat him as a friend and I'm trying to maintain connections. If you're not coming then in the first place, inform me before hand, not tell me sloppily when I call to ask where the hell you are.

Maybe I'm being over-sensitive, maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill, but to me, it's quite clear that the friendship is longer worth maintaining. Not when the other party doesn't give a damn.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting You know I'm not serious.

I think hor, one of the main reasons why girls shun me ever since I was young is due to the image I project and the image I have.

The image I project is one that is er... desperate, maybe? Because I keep going on about chio-bu and Hebe(oh my goddess~) and chio bu and chio bu and chio bu... No girl would have a good image of a guy who keeps going on about women! Obviously they prefer someone who talks about deep stuff, projects an intellectual image and if possible, is of prom king standard. Ahahahaz.

But this is only secondary; the primary reason is still, the physical image. I mean, if i looked like Brad Pitt instead then all the blabbering on about chio bu would only spark jealousy in the female population instead of disgust in the first place.

The image that i have: the crooked teeth, not-very-big eyes and high hairline, a girl would easily taken me as a geek who is emotionally imbalanced and always cooped up at home and watches too much porn(which is also a reason for the imbalanced emotions). If i had taken off my specs and leave a beard, I would be like him,

Oh god...

AS OF TODAY. EVERYTHING SHALL CHANGE.

One of my bunkmates once said, 'Its ok for a guy to not have good looks as long as he has charm'. You know what? I AM GOING TO HAVE BOTH.

I shall go for plastic surgery to get double eyelids, plant hair on my forehead, go for lasic and get dentures(since the current set of teeth is really a hopeless case already).

I shall stop the continuous talk about chio bu and adapt the all-women-are-equal-regardless-of-looks stand. When speaking to the ladies i will cease usage of any vulgarities and converse with them about Shakespeare, politics, astronomy and S'pore Budget '07. That way even if they don't know what I'm talking about they'll still think I'm smart. Hur hur.

I will be tranformed into a handsome charming lad who is the object of all women's desire!!!! Muahahahahahahz... Wait, i'm laughing too wildly. *laughs mildly with hand over mouth and full of charm instead*

As of now, I need to go, for i must now search for a new name that's is only befitting of my high future-status. Ciao.

Question:
What do u call the body parts of a Private?

I am currently laughing at Xiaxue's new post. Towards the end, when she started complaining about people saying that she is not as pretty compared to the young girls and she starts saying how the girl looks ugly in her specs whatsoever.

Ok, maybe the girl in question really was not-chio-act-chio and sorts but its just so funny to see the way XX was whining, so... sour.

Anyways, the past few days been pretty event-less, except for the relatively boring(but still, interesting compared to being cooped up at home) outing to Sentosa. So I decided i needed to do something, hence, I went to rent Prison Break Season 1 VCDs and boy am I enjoying it. Plus, I'm getting on the habit of reading English books!

Truth be told, as good Chinese books are with humour and the lovey-dovey stories, they're louya compared to English ones when it comes to suspense and detective stories, which is why I'm switching over to ang-moh now. Woot. I think I might try reading books relating to investment and stuff(which Hongyi The Commando is reading) in case I ever get into business.

3 more days to E-posting results.

Somehow, its always the modern stuff that gives me problems. Now, my phone cannot be synchronized with my computer. meaning I can't transfer music files to and fro the computer to the phone.

When I tried to upgrade the bloody windows to Windows XP(yes yes yes, i know its already Windows Vista, give the caveman some credits for trying to catch up la), the freaking cd is corrupted. Now I have a computer that has been reformatted=devoid of any content. KNS.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Night.

Unlike the past, I now rarely sleep with the air-con on. With the air-con now on, I feel kind of weird. The cold floor and the cool air reminds me of the time back in Hong Kong; all we needed was to keep the windows open and the cool air comes in, unlike S'pore where the only stuff that comes into your house are the cockroaches when you open the window.

Thinking back I have to admit i actually miss BMT. Not the boring drills whatsoever but the little precious moments that make the BMT worthwhile, like that magnificent sunset, the jokin around with bunkmates... How I wished that we had conversations like the long one we had during the last night before passing-out.

Ahhh. Irritating nostalgia feelings aside, I just watched 2 shows on vcd, first was Andy Lau's 'Battle of Wits'. The plot I admit, was quite a let-down despite its potential to be a really good movie. But I absolutely lurrrrve the ending. The irony of his loved one drowning in the very waters he had used to drown his enemies is er... satisfying. Consequences of being an idealist I guess.

Second was 'Death Note'. I had some problems adjusting to the storyline at the beginning since I watched 'Death Note' directly after 'Battle of Wits' but it started to go well after I did adjusted. Looking forward to 'Death Note 2'. Oh, and L reminds me of myself; the hunched-back and the eye bags(actually, just the mascara) indicative of lack of sleep(it really does seem as if he didn't sleep throughout the investigations).

Of course, other than those everything else is different between us I know. Can't a man fantasize a bit about being a yandao genius?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting His story

I came out of the theatre feeling... er, raped, in Matthew's words. Its not like the movie was bad, its just that I'm not comfortable about how blatant they were with the issue of homosexuality.

'The History Boys' is really a very smart show with all those quotes and poems; I can only have my lack of knowledge and my incapability to fully grasp the British accent to blame for not being able to fully comprehend the show.

I'm actually kind of surprised to realise how aptly this movie is in describing our own education system as well, all those emphasis on results or the students' monotonous essays and mugging styles. Well, all except the groping parts of course.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Swim swim swim.

Sometimes, I do the dumbest things on Earth that only seems to happen in comedies.

I went for swimming today to get some exercise since I couldn't run, yet. After placing all my stuff inside the locker, I slot the coin in and locked it. I turned to walk towards the pool and noticed something weird.

Why I am seeing things so clearly har?

Fcuk, my specs.

Hence, i turned back, opened the locker and put my specs. Stopped to check if I missed anything, then I put my second coin in and locked it. I turned to walk towards the pool and felt something weird.

Why are my feet not touching the floor?

Fcuk, my slippers.

A grand total of $0.60 spent on one locker. Lagi best lah me.

==========================================

An interesting event I observed in the pool today was that boyfriends who can't swim should not go on swimming outing with their girlfriends who can.

Basically, there's this guy with his girlfriend at the pool today and he was very obviously bored as his girlfriend was happily enjoying her swim. Then he started doing the weird stuff, like walking along the edge and when he got to the deep parts, he was clinging onto the edge so tightly that he looked, er... sissy.

I was thinking, what if some guy goes up to his girlfriend and starts hitting on her? I mean, that's not impossible right? Since you do have breathing intervals when doing breast stroke. And when that happens, I'm sure the girlfriend wouldn't mind having the new guy hitting on her since her own boyfriend is doing all those weird stuff and she decides not to embarass herself.

Even if he stops doing all those weird things to try and stop the guy from hitting on his girlfriend, he can only stand there and sigh to himself,

'Damn, they're going to the deep end.'

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Passed out!

With much tears and sadness, we booked out from Tekong for the last time together.

Ok, I lied. No tears. Everyone was so damn happy. LOL. I passed out! Woot. Not the literal fainting kind of pass out, but the released-from-BMT kind of pass out.

It was kind of interesting, as before booking out, people whom I don't really know came up to shake hands with me and said 'good luck' and stuff. I think its only in there do I experience such warmth; outside the camp, people wouldn't bother to do that if they didn't know you.

As for my bunkmates, we didn't have that close-knitted bond simply because we didn't go through shit together, unlike the other Pes A and B people who did and had close friends. But we're not that strangers to each other too; we had this nice talk which went on till 1AM plus.

After this would be 12 days of bloc leave till the 26th, then I'll know which unit I'll be posted to(no Tekong plz!).

I wonder what awaits me there.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting S is for Sparta.

Go, tell the Spartans, stranger passing by,
That here, obedient to their laws, we lie.

Short week at Tekong but enjoyable nevertheless.

Firstly, there was CO Parade on Thursday morning. Weirdly, I enjoyed it despite my aching left ankle cuz it brought back nice memories of the NPCC days. Another thing that was more interesting to see was to see people fake fainting. Lol.

And then there was Games Day in the afternoon. Electrifying was the word I would use to describe it. I expected Scorpion to live up to its reputation of Slack-iest company and get last place or something. But alas, we managed to clinch a fifth place out of the eleven companies. Games Day may not be an accurate indication of strengths or abilities but overcoming the normal beliefs even some of us had: that Pes C people all cannot-make-it, made the triumph sweet.

By nightfall the Recruit's Evening was held at the parade square. Basically, this is the time when no sergeants scold at you for jumping around and no officers to stop you shouting crazily. Mostly everyone were in civilian clothes and enjoying the performances by our own recruits and the SAF's MDC(Music & Drama something-i forgot).

The performance showed one thing: there are too many guitar players out there already. There was at least 4 performances on the guitar la. According to my speculation, most of them probably learnt it cuz it was an easy tool to xian char bor, and it turned out that it was so easy that too many guys learnt it. I speculated that cuz I thought guitar is an easy tool to xian char bor also.

But anyway, I was seated with my platoon people for front parts of the performance cuz I didn't know the rock songs. I only went to the front to ki siao when I heard Black Eye Peas' 'Let's Get Started' and decided that I've had enough with sitting with all those guai-guai A level students.

After the Recruits' Evening everyone was in a good mood, even our old-old officers were in relatively good mood and were joking around with us.

===========================================

I went out with my bunkmates after booking out on Friday to watch '300'. IT WAS FANTASTIC. I think Scorpion company should change name to Spartan company, more sat.

A beautiful conclusion to the 2 lousy movies I watched previously, '300' is based on the battle of Thermopylae: King Leonidas of Sparta leads 300 Spartans to hold the pass of Thermopylae against the hundreds of thousands of Persian mercenaries and soldiers led by the evil God-King, Xerxes.

The filmography and music was perfect, I was only discontented with 2 points:
  1. The gore. I hate gore, but gore is so essential for this movie. I'm not a director but i wonder if '300' would still be as good without the gore.
  2. The sex scene. Goodness, the only reason I can find to explain the presence of that scene is that its from Hollywood, nothing else. People obviously watch the show to see the Spartans in action at the battlefield, not on the bed.
Otherwise, a 8.5/10 for '300'. Go catch it!

=========================================

So many stuff to blog sia. Just went out with the usual 2/4 gang to NTU's and NUS's open houses. I have a clearer view but still, the choice is damn hard to make. NTU's Communication studies is no easy course to get in, plus even if i do, I'm not sure I am of calibre to take it on. If I were take some other course I'll be so bored la.

*sigh*

Oh well. Booking in later evening; LAST BOOK IN!!! Passing out on Tuesday already. Time flies.

Woot. I guess this is the best I can ever ask for, my ticket to Uni and the stop sign to all those worries.

Even the old uncle walking on the street was so jealous of me that he decided to elbow me in the stomach.

I think my bunkmates are going to think I'm a hypocrite and kill me. I was, afterall, the one who made the most noise before getting the results. Turned out to get pretty neat results.

Went off with the class peeps to catch a movie. Knn, the korean movie, 'Seducing Mr. Perfect', had such a broken storyline even when it was doing the usual cliche stuff.
