Yaphoo~
Lousy post. Might as well blog another one.
Actually, seeing Kok Mun's post on one of his personal hates: sticky caps, kinda made me wanna blog out my pet peeves.
But there's so many and of those, 90% of my pet peeves will comfirm make people wanna plant bombs at my doorstep. But bloggers typing in sticky caps don't exactly frustrate me. Instead, it makes me feel good cuz I'll think, 'how old liaoz, still acting cute, and in the WORST ways ever, hahahahahah'. Then I'll feel damn matured and go on to play Neopets.
GAAAAH.
I'll just say another one of my pet peevs: I have the insatiable urge to correct people's English, grammar-wise and spelling-wise. Actually its for their own good lehz. You see, we're all taking GP papers right, so it really helps that in your everyday life that your English standard gets polished up by your good friend, Yours Truly, then when it comes to the real stuff, you don't make the same mistakes that causes the examiner marking your paper to fall off your chair.
I mean it*cue innocent-looking eyes*! Some mistakes, either in phrasing or spelling(like voi-la, not viola which is violin in French), can be really really funny. The problem is that such mistakes are kinda natural and we often make them without knowing it. Can't recall any funny ones, but i do remember my own mistake:
In my Thursday September post, I blogged
Yeay! Jasmine's out. I'm not happy because i hate her or anything, just that i wanna see a spectacular finals 2 weeks from now.
Note the second sentence, i meant to say 'I'm happy not because I hate her', yet I said 'I'm not happy because I hate her', which can have an entirely different meaning. Possibly a case of direct translation from chinese, and thanks to Kenneth, I realise this and probably will try to make sure i don't do it again.
But its kinda, actually, very irritating to those i correct if i keep doing it, and I wouldn't want to be more irritating than I already am. So usually I'll just bite my tongue and try to ignore the mistake i saw.
